It’s been a while since we’ve updated you on how Samuel’s garden is progressing.
Well, we’ve halved the decking to give us more garden. It’s worked really well and we still have plenty of space to sit out and use our garden furniture. We’ve re-turfed the part of the garden which although has knitted in well, it is still obvious that there is new turf down!
We’ve stripped the decking and varnished it and provided a small step down into the main garden.
We’ve also bought a new little shed which we are using to store all our garden tools and we’ve it painted blue.
The fences have been painted which has given the garden a new, fresher look.
What next? Well we’ve given the garden a good weed, but still need to cut back a few enthusiastic growers. Then Samuel’s Grannie will be coming over for a couple of days to help us with some planting. A local Garden Centre did suggest that they might be able to help us out with some plants and garden bits and bobs, but unfortunately they’ve now said that they can’t provide assistance. But Grannie has come to the rescue and has come up with a great plan of incorporating colour and scent into the garden. Once that is done, we will look at what other sensory things we can include and look at whether we have enough space for a special little swing for Samuel.
It’s not looking very ‘sensory’ at the moment…but we’ll get there.
(We also need to get to grips with our fruit and veg patch in the corner!)
